The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is a seven-seat bigger version of the Tiguan. The latest Tiguan Allspace has a freshened exterior styling and is packed with plenty of high-tech features and lots of room in the back.
Rivals to the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace include the Skoda Kodiaq, Audi Q5, Seat Ateca, and Kia Sportage.
Our Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace review covers:
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is essentially a more practical Tiguan with seven seats. It is a bit more rugged than the standard Tiguan model but doesn’t compromise on style. The Tiguan Allspace has a stylish and sporty exterior with a striking radiator grille and elegant signature lighting. Its selectable alloy wheels underline its sporty drive power and add to the Tiguan Allspace’s bold SUV character.
Inside, the Tiguan Allspace combines digital convenience with timeless comfort. It is packed with high-quality decorative elements and a spacious layout. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, the Tiguan Allspace offers more legroom for second-row passengers, making it a genuine rival for the Skoda Kodiaq.
As for boot space, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace offers 230 litres of space with all seven seats in place. However, the boot expands to 700 litres when you collapse the second row and a massive 1,775 litres when you collapse the third row.
The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has a great interior that's easy to use, and the infotainment system is responsive and intuitive. Still, alternatives such as the Audi Q5 have much more exciting cabins with greater scope for personalisation.
Every Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace comes with an eight-inch display as standard. It is conveniently placed in the dashboard between a row of shortcut keys and a physical volume knob. You can use your preferred navigation apps through the car's screen. You can also connect your phone using the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functions.
Three trim levels are available, including Life, Elegance and R-Line.
Entry-level Life models come with 18-inch alloy wheels, three-zone climate control, LED headlights, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and a digital instrument display. It also comes with front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and a lane keep assist as standard.
Elegance models add keyless entry, a powered tailgate, a panoramic glass sunroof and bright Matrix LED headlights. It also adds a reversing camera, blind spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert.
The top-of-the-range R-Line models add a sportier edge to the Tiguan Allspace with 20-inch alloy wheels, R-Line exterior styling, a rear-view camera, heated sports-style front seats, heated rear seats, wireless smartphone charging and independent rear climate control.
Volkswagen offers the Tiguan Allspace with a choice of five petrol and diesel engines with front and four-wheel drive variants available.
The entry-level 148bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel is a popular choice for drivers carrying out school-run duties and shopping trips. However, a more powerful version would be better suited for longer trips, especially when carrying seven people. For example, the 197bhp 2.0-litre TDI 4Motion model would be a better option for drivers who do a lot of miles and want a more powerful powertrain.
Petrol variants are available in a 1.5-litre TSI with 148 horsepower and a 2.0-litre TSI with either 187 or 242 horsepower. The entry-level 148bhp petrol car is the only model in the Tiguan Allspace lineup that cannot be ordered with all-wheel drive.
You'll find the Tiguan Allspace very easy to drive, whichever model you pick. Its high ride height and large windows give you a great view, and the light controls make it easy to manoeuvre in town despite its large size.
All models come with a bundle of high-tech safety kit. The Tiguan Allspace is one of the best all-around seven-seat SUVs available and is a great leasing option for a family car.
Prices for the new Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace start from £34,035.00 OTR* or to lease from £348.76 per month.
