Really pleased with the Astra. The 150bhp petrol engine is plenty powerful enough yet returns excellent fuel economy and us very quiet. Excellent value too.

Lovely car - easy to drive. However, current petrol costs make it expensive to run, especially as I use it mainly for short journeys.

The driving position is comfortable, everything is within reach and plenty of pockets etc to keep the car tidy. I'm 6ft tall and I have two children, which still have plenty of room behind my seat. The amount of technology is great and the android auto interface (plug in you phone etc) is awesome everything from music and directions to being able to ask Goole anything. Summer driving was comfortable with the auto Aircon function and the heated seats were welcomed in winter. The windscreen and car warmed up fast so the ice etc cleared quickly. Long and short journeys in the car are a dream from my 1hr commute to the 1200 mile trip in a weekend. Boot space is ample enough for weekly shop or clothes for four people for a week. The engine response is good for overtaking vehicles on country roads and doesn't feel like it's struggling on motorway either, around town it picks up and idles well also. Fuel economy is also good ranging from 40mpg (usual) to 50mpg (motorway). All in all a year later I still smile when I drive the car.

I consider the Astra I leased, which I got on a special offer, along with maintenance, to be excellent value. I do a daily commute of around 30 miles, almost all on a busy a road, and it has managed this with no fuss. It is comfortable, and noticeably quieter than comparable vehicles, which I really value. Performance is impressive in sport mode, but this affects economy, and the car feels sluggish in normal mode, so I never use it. I've been very pleased so far - the only minor annoyances are a rattle in one of the door panels when I turn the music volume up, and a really temperemantal / sluggish Bluetooth system that I feel is already outdated.
