Simon Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD Auto

vehicle broke down on day 2 of ownership, then again a few week later. Further problems identified as incorrectly installed suspension components. The car is unreliable and arguably unsafe with the suspension defect. I agreed with Tesla to reject the vehicle then they changed their mind because it was a business lease. Tesla are now black listed by our company

Glenn Tesla Model Y RWD Auto

The Model Y is the most brilliant and most annoying car I've ever owned! It's great to drive and very quirky, which I like. Performance is great, it's fun to drive and it's like a toy box on wheels! As it was designed as an electric car from the ground up it has loads of storage and everything is really well positioned. Charging at the Tesla Superchargers has eliminated all of my worries about range and long journeys. The sound system is excellent too! But there are far too many flaws in the day to day features such as the voice recognition (my 7 year old Mondeo's is way better) and the driving aids for me to consider another one. The 'auto-pilot' is unbelievably frustrating and in my opinion dangerous as it panics and applies the brakes far too readily. I like to set the cruise control in towns to ensure I'm adhering to the speed limit. Trouble is, if someone starts walking out into the road to cross behind, as often happens, it will slam the brakes on. In my opinion it is more likely to cause a collision than prevent one. And I know this isn't a Tesla thing and many cars these days come without one but WHY NO SPARE WHEEL??? A total of 6 hours waiting to be recovered for a puncture is totally unnecessary. In summary, the Tesla is great fun but lots of improvements in the technology are required.

The Tesla Model Y stands tall in the highly competitive class of all-electric SUVs.

The Tesla Model Y has a powerful engine, an excellent all-electric range, and a practical interior, making it a good choice for a family SUV.

Prices for the new Tesla Model Y start from £44,000.00 OTR* or to lease from £612.36 per month.

This is on par with its rivals, such as the Genesis GV60 and the Kia EV6.

The Tesla Model Y is 4751mm in length and 1921mm in width (excluding the mirrors). This means there's plenty of space inside, so passengers in the front and back shouldn't have too many issues.

The range of the Tesla Model Y depends on which trim you choose.

The entry-level RWD Auto has a range of 283 miles, the mid-range Long Range AWD Auto achieves 351 miles, and the range-topping Performance AWD Auto has a range of 319 miles.

If your battery is completely drained, a standard Tesla charger will take about ten hours to charge the Model Y. This is increased to 12 hours on the Long Range version of the Model Y.

If you have charging capabilities at home, it'll be best to charge your Tesla overnight to ensure it's charged for the next day.

The most obvious difference is the class, the Model 3 is a sedan, whilst the Model Y is an SUV. This means that Model Y is more practical. It has way more space inside the cabin and features more extras, such as folding rear seats and a bigger boot. 

The Model Y is slightly less powerful than the Model 3. The top-of-the-range Performance Model Y can achieve 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds, while its Model 3 counterpart can reach it in just 3.1 seconds.
