In a word Fantastic! From the moment I decided to proceed Nationwide have been great; the process was simple and the service top drawer. I am really happy with the vehicle and am enjoying driving it

The car handles very well and feels really secure in all road conditions, the in-vehicle technology is also very good and straightforward to operate. The only minor niggles are the ride is on the firm side and that the boot space isn't level.

The fuel consumption has been very poor with this vehicle and nothing like was claimed on the advertisement. Given that I was choosing a vehicle largely for it's fuel consumption, this has been very disappointing. VW Finance have not been at all interested and are obviously practised at deflecting complaints with unworkable 'solutions.' Of less importance but still irritating, the engine is noisy. I would not lease this vehicle again.

Good all round car, only minor negatives - e.g. no front parking sensors despite being high spec otherwise.

This is the best driving car I’ve had for a few years now, although admittedly my previous car was the 7 seat Citroen grand c4 Picasso which was more for practicality rather than enjoyment which is where the ateca takes a big hit. thats not to say it’s bad but it could do with slightly more room in the boot and a standard flat loading bay with under floor space would have been nice. The interior is a bit bland, very grey with not much else going on. The cup holders are poorly designed and you can effectively only have one drink in at a time although you can fit two water bottles in ok. The car has apple car play which is fantastic although the screen is slightly lower resolution than I would like and is prone to crashing. Normally this isn’t a problem although it did occur once when I was in the middle of a town centre and had no idea where I was going until I could reboot the system which on that occasion took several minutes. I have the 150ps 4-wheel drive xcellence version as it was on a great leasing deal at the time, I haven’t had the need to use the 4-wheel drive mode yet. The ateca was going through a model revision and my model dropped the standard leather seats in favour of front parking sensors and the ability to park itself. I had both of these features in my Citroen. The front parking sensors would have been good to have but I only used the self parking a couple of times when I had it and that was mainly to show it to family and friends. The trip computer claims I get about 45mpg, I think this is being generous and lower 40s is more accurate based on the couple of times I’ve calculated this myself. Servicing costs are great if you take out the 2-year plan which I pay £18pm for over 18 months (£324) which gets you the first two services. This must be booked in the first three months of having the car and strangely they took the first three months payment in one go (I did wait until the last minute before buying). In sport mode the car has a lot of acceleration and the steering tightens, both these are very noticeable compared to the eco or normal modes which I can’t tell much difference between. Overall I’m very pleased with the car.

When we first got the car it was not in condition to be presented to us as customers .So sadly that is my overall picture. But the Seat Ateca is an amazing car and lovely to drive, and would recommend the car to anyone wanting a Seat Ateca ,Nationwide need to have more control over people who are delivering there cars .As my car should never have been delivered to us in condition it was.
