The Peugeot e-308 SW is an electric estate car that's sure to impress your neighbours. Offering brilliant value for money, the e-308 SW comes with a well-polished and spacious interior and solid electric range.
Rivals to the e-308 SW include the Ford Focus Estate, MG5 EV, Vauxhall Astra-e Sports Tourer, and Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer.
Our Peugeot e-308 SW review covers:
Think of the e-308 SW as the older brother of the standard e-308 hatchback; it looks pretty similar but is just a bit bigger. It follows the same exterior design, with a sleek front end and aerodynamic design. The rear end has been extended in classic estate car fashion to offer more rear space, and even with its addition, it still looks pretty good.
There's a good amount of space inside the e-308 SW. Those sitting in the front will have no issues thanks to ample legroom and storage space, and three children can fit in the back with ease. The only time issues might arise is when adults sit in the rear, as the sloping rear roofline slightly hinders headroom.
Boot space comes in at 548 litres, which is nearly 200 litres bigger than the standard e-308 hatchback. It can be extended to 1,574 litres by folding the rear seats flat. There are not many handy features to write home about for the boot, besides a low-load lip and underfloor storage for the charging cables.
The days when Peugeot cars had boring interiors are long gone. The e-308 SW has a swanky cabin that looks great and is fit for purpose. Thanks to Peugeot's i-Cockpit, there's a driver-oriented dashboard that looks good. What I really like is that they haven't completely replaced traditional buttons -there's a nice mix of touchscreen displays and buttons/dials that will please everyone.
The e-308 SW comes with a pair of 10-inch displays, one on the dashboard for the infotainment system and one behind the steering wheel for the digital instrument cluster. It's a pretty unique system, so it can be tricky to use at first, but once you've figured it out, it works well. It comes with smartphone connectivity as standard, but you'll need to upgrade to get 3D navigation and Peugeot i-Connect.
Three trim levels are available for the e-308 SW: Active, Allure, and GT.
Active comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a pair of 10-inch displays, and rear parking sensors.
Allure adds 17-inch alloy wheels, Peugeot i-Connect, a 180-degree colour reversing camera, and connected 3D navigation.
GT has 18-inch diamond-polished alloy wheels, full matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, and wireless smartphone connection.
There's only one battery and motor combination for the e-308 SW. It's a 54kWh battery paired with a 156hp electric motor that returns an electric range of up to 254 miles, but I'd expect a real-world range around the 190 mark.
A 7.4kW home charger can take the battery from 20% to 80% in four and a half hours, while 100kW rapid charging is also available that will get the job done in just 30 minutes.
In terms of performance, it maxes out at 106mph, and you'll shoot from 0 to 62mph in just under ten seconds.
One of the main advantages of the e-308 SW is how easy it is to drive. It doesn't require much input from the driver to toot along very nicely, but it can also be great fun to drive if needed.
The e-308 SW is great to drive around town. The steering is accurate and incisive, making parking and navigating tight city streets relatively easy. If you operate around town most of the time, we'd recommend the Allure trim, as it has a 180-degree reversing camera.
For long journeys, the ride is smooth but it can get a little noisy above 70mph. Thankfully, getting up to 70mph isn't too challenging, and you'll also be able to overtake pretty easily.
Three driving modes are also available for the e-308 SW: Sport, Normal, and Eco. You'll get around mostly using Normal, which is the most balanced. If you're after power and performance, go for Sport, while if you want optimal range, go for Eco.
