The Peugeot e-2008 is an electric version of the regular 2008 SUV. Like its predecessors, the Peugeot e-2008 has good looks, a practical interior, and decent on-the-road performance.
Rivals to the Peugeot e-2008 include the Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV and the MG ZS EV.
Our Peugeot e-2008 review covers:
Unlike many modern electric vehicles, you wouldn't notice that the Peugeot e-2008 was an EV unless you opened the bonnet yourself. Its exterior is the same as the traditional 2008 with its pronounced grille and LED headlights, so looks certainly don't disappoint.
If you are looking for an affordable family car, the Peugeot e-2008 would be a good choice. There's a generous amount of space in the cabin, with there being enough room for four adults. There's also good storage space in the centre armrest and in the several cup holders dotted about.
Boot space isn't affected by the electric battery, so it remains at 405 litres, which can extend to 1467 litres if you fold the seats 60:40. There's additional space under the boot floor for your EV charging cables, meaning they're always at hand and don't get damaged.
The interior of the e-2008 will win most people over with its futuristic yet logical approach. The dashboard and touchscreen display is oriented towards the driver, and the materials used are towards the premium end of the spectrum.
Coming standard with the e-2008 is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There's also a raised iCockpit system closer to your eyeline, meaning you keep your eyes on the road for as long as possible.
Three trim levels are available for the e-2008: Active Premium, Allure Premium and the top-of-the-range GT.
The entry-level Active Premium comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, privacy glass and 4 USB ports.
The Allure Premium has 17-inch alloy wheels, part-leatherette seats, a 180-degree-view reversing camera, and a built-in satnav.
The range-topping GT is head and shoulders above the rest. It has 18-inch alloy wheels, suede heated fabric seats, customisable mood lighting, a 10-inch infotainment system, and emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
The only engine available is a 50 kWh 136bhp unit which can achieve 0-60mph in nine seconds. The main catch is the range, with Peugeot claiming it returns up to 214 miles. This is competitive with many of its rivals but doesn't compare to the Kia Niro EV's 285 miles.
The e-2008 is a good around-town car, but don't expect to be blown away by its performance. You can easily cruise through town, but once you get on the motorway, the engine begins to struggle.
The suspension is softly sprung, so bigger bumps cause a bit of bounce, and it also leans in the corners more than its rivals, so an exciting drive through some country roads might be off the cards.
Prices for the new Peugeot e-2008 start from £35,095.00 OTR* or to lease from £315.27 per month.
If you're thinking about leasing the Peugeot e-2008, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts has a range of car leasing deals available.
