The Mercedes-Benz EQS Estate is an electric SUV that's perfect for those looking to ride in style. Its wonderful interior and superb ride quality ensure a relaxing driving experience in all conditions.
Rivals to the EQS Estate include the Volvo EX90, BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron, and Range Rover.
Our Mercedes-Benz EQS Estate review covers:
The EQS Estate stands out in the premium electric SUV market thanks to its sophisticated interior. While its rivals focus on a muscly design, the EQS Estate has an aerodynamic design that reeks of class.
While also looking good, the EQS Estate ensures that you're comfortable for the duration of your journey. It's the biggest electric SUV Merc makes, so as you can expect, there's plenty of space inside. Two adults can easily fit in the front, while three passengers can get comfortable in the rear.
The boot space is a whopping 880 litres, which is way ahead of the BMW iX. If you opt for seven seats, space decreases to just 195 litres, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.
The cabin is about as luxurious as it gets. The dashboard is a nice blend of luxury and practicality and features various high-quality materials, such as leather trim, soft-touch plastics, and immense build quality.
The EQS Estate comes with two huge displays as standard: a 12.8-inch display for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver display that comes standard with a head-up display. Yes, it comes standard with a head-up display. That can't be said for many of its rivals.
Two trims are available: AMG Line Premium Plus and Business Class.
AMG Line Premium Plus has 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, privacy glass, keyless go, an augmented reality head-up display, heated seats, EQ navigation, and an MBUX interior assistant.
Business Class adds multi-contour seats with massage function, luxury front head restraints, and two high-resolution displays in the rear.
It's powered by a 108kWh battery that's paired to dual electric motors. The entry-level version is the 450 4MATIC, which returns 355hp and goes from 0 to 62mph in just six seconds.
The range-topper is the 580 4MATIC, which has 437hp and gets to 62mph in under five seconds.
Both get a range in excess of 300 miles, with the 450 getting an official range up to 365 miles and the other falling just short with 362 miles.
Rapid charging is available up to 200kW, which takes the battery from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes. Using a standard wall box charger will fully charge the battery in five and a half hours.
In terms of driving, the EQS Estate is surprisingly agile for a car of its size. The steering is responsive and accurate, making urban driving relatively straightforward.
The standout element is its ride comfort. The suspension soaks up almost anything thrown in its path, making for a relaxing drive at low and high speeds.
You'll also get minimal road and engine noise, which really emphasises the executive feel.
