The Range Rover Sport is hard to beat if you're after a premium SUV that offers outstanding comfort, strong performance, and an engaging drive. The 2023 updates have introduced smarter styling, onboard technology improvements and remain as high-class as ever while keeping a dynamic edge over its bigger Range Rover sibling.
Rivals to the Range Rover Sport include the Maserati Levante, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, and Mercedes GLE.
Our Range Rover Sport review covers:
The new Range Rover Sport is unmistakable and redefines sporting luxury with its imposing road presence from its muscular stance, dramatic proportions and short overhangs. Its taut body surfaces portray power and performance, while the stealth-like headlights, grille and sculpted lower bumper show confidence and attitude. From the rear, the design is immaculate, with minimal creases around its LED tail-light graphic contained in a black trim strip.
Inside, it's modernist, sophisticated and dynamic, with plenty of room for all passengers to ride in comfort and luxury. However, rivals such as the Audi Q7 offer better head and knee room for rear passengers, but there is more than enough room inside for most.
As for boot space, the Range Rover Sport offers 657 litres boot, which expands to 1,860 litres with all rear seats down. Plus, you can raise and lower the car's height with the air suspension by pressing two buttons on the boot wall, making it easier to load heavy objects.
Range Rover Sport interior is one of the best on the market, taking clear inspiration from the full-sized Range Rover.
A combination of material tactility and modification gives the interior a luxury feel, offering Windsor and soft Semi-Aniline leather options and Noble and Moonlight Chrome details.
The dashboard is dominated by a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with climate controls located beneath it. There's also a floating centre console with storage beneath it with stylish ambient lighting all around the cabin.
Four trim levels are available, including SE, Dynamic SE, Autobiography and First Edition.
Range Rover Sport SE models come with Pixel LED headlights with 21-inch Style 5126 wheels, signature Daytime Running Lights, Perforated Windsor leather seats, Online Pack with Data Plan1 and Amazon Alexa and Meridian Sound System.
Dynamic SE models come with 21-inch Style 5126 Satin Dark Grey wheels with Black brake callipers, Pixel LED headlights with signature Daytime Running Lights, Perforated Windsor leather seats, Online Pack with Data Plan1 and Amazon Alexa and a Meridian Sound System.
Autobiography models come with 22-inch Style 5127 Diamond Turned wheels with Satin Dark Grey contrast, Digital LED headlights with signature Daytime Running Lights and Image Projection, SV Bespoke Full Extended Leather Upgrade with Perforated Semi-Aniline leather seats, Black contrast roof with a sliding panoramic roof and a Meridian Sound System.

Land Rover offers the Range Rover Sport with a choice of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines. There are plans for an all-electric version as well, although it won't likely be available until 2024.
As for petrol engines, You can choose between a mild-hybrid six-cylinder with 400hp and a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 530hp. A high-performance SVR version will also be released come at a later date.
There are also two diesel options available, both 3.0-litre straight-sixes and both with mild hybrid assistance. You can choose between the 300hp D300 and 350hp D350 variants.
The plug-in hybrid model has a 32kWh battery pack and a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine and can travel 70 miles on electric power alone. Two models are available in either 440hp in the P440e or 510hp from the P510e variants.
All-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission are standard on all variants of the Range Rover Sport.
On the road, the Range Rover Sport is brilliant, offering excellent grip, while the steering is light but accurate, which means it's great for navigating twisty roads. With new switchable-volume air springs, twin-valve active dampers to better control the vehicle's heavy weight, and other advancements like active noise cancellation technology, refinement is far greater than the previous generation model of the Sport.
Overall, the Range Rover Sport is an outstanding premium SUV that's hard to beat but does come with a hefty price tag.
Prices for the new Range Rover Sport start from £82,000.00 OTR* or to lease from £955.88 per month.
