Yes, the BMW i4 is a pure electric car. It comes with an 83.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack and is available in two model versions: the eDrive40 with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive and a high-performance i4 M50 model with two electric motors and four-wheel drive.
As a full electric car, the BMW i4 will need to be plugged into a EV charging unit (such as a home, work, or public EV charger) to take electricity from the grid. It is compatible with 200kW public chargers for fast charging, boosting the eDrive40 range by up to 102 miles in just 10 minutes or by 87 miles for the i4 M50.
