So, you’ve decided you're going to lease your next vehicle, but rather than a new car lease, you fancy getting behind the wheel of a used car.
Good idea! Used car leasing is perfect for those looking to save a few extra pennies and still drive a relatively new car.
In this blog, we’ll explore how you can navigate a used car lease, understand the benefits, and get the best deal possible.
We discuss:
Used car leasing allows you to drive an affordable used vehicle without the expense or hassle of ownership.
Like new car leasing, it’s a long-term rental agreement where you pay an initial rental followed by fixed monthly payments for the duration of your lease.
The car you lease will be a used vehicle and will have been driven on the roads before. However, all our used lease cars are inspected, refurbished, safety checked and valeted before delivery to ensure they meet car quality standards.
Pros:
- Affordable - Leasing a used car is much more affordable than leasing a new car. As the car has been driven before, it comes with cheaper monthly payments.
- Wide selection of vehicles - Whether you’re looking for a hot hatchback or an SUV, a wide range of options are available through used car leasing.
- Roadside assistance - All used cars leased through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts come with inclusive roadside assistance for a minimum of six months.
- Drive a relatively new car - Although the car won’t be brand new, it will still be relatively new. This means it will feature a great range of technology at a reasonable price.
- Available for delivery - All used lease cars are already in stock, meaning they can be available for delivery in as little as 14 days (times may vary). For more information on delivery, check out our Delivery Lead Times guide.
Cons:
- It’s not brand new - Used cars aren't brand new, so there may be some slight wear and tear across the bodywork and wheels. Also, as they are a couple of years old, they might not come with the latest technology.
- Previous mileage - As an ex-lease car, used cars will already have mileage on the clock. However, any mileage on the vehicle before handover will not count towards your annual mileage allowance.
- Maintenance may cost more - Because used cars are older, maintenance may work out slightly more expensive. However, all used cars leased with Nationwide Vehicle Contracts come with a minimum six-month MOT and service and inclusive roadside assistance.
All our used cars are ex-lease cars sourced exclusively from industry-leading vehicle funders, meaning they are no older than four years old. They will also have no more than 100,000 miles on the clock.
If you’re interested in a used car lease deal, get in touch with one of our sales consultants, and we’ll be happy to send images of the vehicle.
The images will show the exterior and interior of the vehicle.
It’s worth noting that you won't be able to view the used lease car in person before delivery as Nationwide Vehicle Contracts don’t hold stock of the vehicles.
Leasing a used car is a great choice for drivers looking for an economical and practical solution. It allows you to enjoy lower payments and the luxury of driving a higher-end model without the steep price tag.
By understanding the benefits of this blog, you can make a well-informed decision that suits your financial situation and lifestyle needs.
