If you're looking for a family SUV, I've no doubt that the Nissan X-Trail will have crossed your mind.
A large SUV that's affordable and spacious enough to accommodate all your family, even your dog, the Nissan X-Trail is arguably the superhero of large SUVs.
Whether you need it to navigate urban jungles or countryside trails, the X-Trail is equipped to handle whatever is thrown its way and ensure your family has a comfortable journey.
In this blog, we'll take a deep dive into the Nissan X-Trail, discussing engine options, interior space, technology, and how it compares with its competitors.
We discuss:
One of the main reasons you'll be considering leasing the Nissan X-Trail is because of its interior space. The Nissan X-Trail has enough room for seven people, which is more than enough for your children, extended family, and even pets.
It also does a great job of ensuring all passengers are comfortable regardless of whether you're sitting in the front or on the third row of seats.
A big plus for the X-Trail is its interior trim. It comes standard with various plush materials such as soft-touch plastics and plenty of handy features like four Isofix points, a floating centre console, and an integrated rear sunshade.
Although it's not as premium as the Land Rover Discovery, the interior of the X-Trail certainly holds its own.
Nissan rarely produces a car with bad technology, and the X-Trail is certainly no different. It comes with a whole arsenal of technology, such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone mirroring, in-car wifi, a virtual personal assistant, and a head-up display from the Tekna trim.
You can also use the NissanConnect Services app, which gives you remote access to the convenience and comfort features of the X-Trail. You can check whether your vehicle is locked, has flashing headlights, and much more from the comfort of your home.
Boot space in the X-Trail is pretty versatile. You can fold the third row of seats down flat if you don't need them, and the second row of seats is built with a 40:20:40 sliding design.
With all seven seats in place, you get 177 litres of space. Fold the third row down, and this increases to 485 litres; if you need maximum space, fold down the second row to reveal up to 1,298 litres.
This is slightly smaller than the Kia Sorento but on par with the Hyundai Santa Fe and Land Rover Discovery.
The Nissan X-Trail is available with either a mild-hybrid or electric powertrain. The first version is the mild-hybrid, which is made up of a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a small electric motor.
We'd recommend going for the e-Power engine, which is a bit of a compromise between a normal engine and an electric one. It's made up of a 1.5-litre petrol engine that's used to charge a battery, which then powers the car, so there's no need to plug in to charge.
The e-Power engine is also available with four-wheel drive, known as the e-4orce. This version uses two electric motors, one for each axle, and works in sync for a smooth ride. It ups the power output to 210hp and shoots from 0-62mph in just under seven seconds.
The Nissan X-Trail is a versatile, family-friendly SUV that's one of the most attractive large SUVs on the market. The X-Trail is perfect for families and offers ample space and good technology at an affordable price point.
With a choice of mild-hybrid and e-Power engines, the X-Trail caters to diverse driving needs, which is just what a family needs.
Although it might not be as luxurious as the Land Rover Discovery or as spacious as the Kia Sorento, the X-Trail won't let your family down.
