The Kia Picanto, Rio and cee’d models all have a new special edition range in their ranks: the VR7.
And all of them come with the same high level of specification that includes (on the inside) air conditioning, leather trimmed steering wheel and gearshift, Bluetooth Connectivity and USB & AUX ports; and (on the outside) alloy wheels, reversing sensors, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and electric front and rear (where applicable) windows.
Worth a look at I suggest before you even look at what each particular model also offers on top of these standard specs.
Picanto
Both the Picanto 3-door ‘VR7’ 1.0 68bhp and Picanto 5-door ‘VR7’ 1.0 84bhp feature the above specification but also add in a whole host of safety features like ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ESB), Brake-Assist System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), six airbags and Hill-start Assist control (HAC).
Throw in some other exterior extras such as silver finished interior door handles, chrome exterior door handles, premium black upholstery and a black radiator grille, and the VR7 range ios pretty damn attractive when you are looking at the Kia Picanto version.
Rio
When it comes to the ‘VR7’ Rio range in the Rio model we are talking 3-door and 5-door 1.25bhp and Rio 5-door 1.1 CRDi bhp, all with the standard spec (blah blah blah.)
But then they add in when it comes to safety, an Anti-theft Alarm System when it comes to security, and external features like body-colour bumpers, exterior door handles and door mirrors.
cee’d
When it comes to the cee’d range, the VR7 models are plentiful.
The ‘VR7’ range is available on the pro_cee’d 1.4 bhp, cee’d 5-door 1.4 bhp & 1.4 CRDi bhp and the cee’d Sportswagon 1.4 bhp, all of which add in 16” alloy wheels, black ‘abstract’ cloth, steering wheel mounted controls and a rear spoiler to the standard spec.
But as Jimmy Cricket says: “Come here; there’s more.”
The cee’d 5-door and cee’d Sportswagon models also raises the VR7 bar when it comes to trim by adding in a rear spoiler, projection headlights, front fog lights and daytime running lights, and continues upwards towards the sky with safety features enhanced by emergency stop signalling, ESC, VSM, ABS (Anti Brake System) and HAC.
And those of you with a bit of an eye on the cee’d Sportswagon ‘VR7’ 1.4 bhp will find that the VR7 version comes with a luggage under-floor box and side tray, luggage 12V power outlet and roof rails.
So I would suggest that it would be a worthwhile effort to make by looking at the Kia VR7 range if that’s the sort of thing you are looking for (in a choice of 4 colours: white, black, silver and red.
