According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), 2015 was one of the best years for the car industry since 2005 and it looks like 2016 is set to follow suit. In March 2016, 518,707 new cars were registered in the UK for the first time, the highest figure since 1999. But what were the best sellers?
Nationwide Vehicle Contracts list the top 10 best selling cars in Britain for the first quarter of the 2016 based on the statistics from SMMT.
1. Ford Fiesta
The Ford Fiesta has been the UK’s best-selling car since 2008 so its no big surprise that it was the best-selling car for the first quarter of 2016. With its attractive exterior style, comfortable interior cabin, low running costs and decent engines, the Fiesta is one of the best small cars on the market, giving rivals such as the Volkswagen Polo and Vauxhall Corsa a run for their money.
2. Vauxhall Corsa
